Jaco's latest challenge is cycling the Carretera Austral in Patagonia, joined by fellow GB Cycling team mate and Rio gold medal winner - Steve Bate, Caroline Bate and Karen Darke.

The Carretera Austral begins where Chile's Lake District ends, heading South for just over 1200km into dense forests, snow tipped mountains, glacial streams, islands and swift-flowing rivers.  The areas they'll cover are very sparsely populated.

The team arrived in Puerto Montt, Chile on Monday, ready to start their 770 mile journey through rural Patagonia. and they're 'bike packing' so have all luggage with them at all times and will stop and find suitable places to camp on their way.

They estimate the trip will take them 25 days. You can follow Jaco's progress on Instragram and Twitter.
